Description
In the abstract strategy game Portents, you'll take on the role of a fortune teller trying to make a name for yourself in a world where the king's favor is fleeting. With a playtime of just 20 to 30 minutes, this game is perfect for a quick session of strategic thinking and tactical maneuvering. Designed by Christopher Ryan Chan, Portents is easy to learn, making it accessible to players of all skill levels. The goal is to manipulate the Bird Sacrifice Tiles on the altar to create lines of three with shared attributes, known as Portents, which will earn you Omen Tokens. As you take turns, you'll use your Sleight of Hand to push, replace, and palm tiles, all while trying to create the perfect combination of Portents to collect Omens and ultimately form Fortunes. The Scrying phase allows you to score and perform upkeep, checking for new Portents, collecting Omens, and managing Burnt Offerings. With its unique blend of matching, set collection, and slide/push mechanics, Portents offers a challenging and engaging experience for 1 to 2 players. Published in 2022, this base game is a great addition to any board game collection, offering a fun and strategic experience that will keep you coming back for more.
