Description

U.S. Patent No. 1 is a thrilling racing game where 3 to 6 players take on the role of scientists competing to be the first to invent time travel. The goal is to reach the Patent Office on its opening day, but with a twist - you have to go back in time to get there. With easy-to-learn rules, you'll navigate through the game, upgrading your time machine with gadgets like power plants, chassis, weapons, and shields. As you race against your opponents, you can invent, buy, or even steal these upgrades to get ahead. With a limited supply of money and power, strategic thinking is key. This 60-minute game is a fun and exciting challenge, especially with its unique blend of action points, set collection, and variable player powers. Published in 2001 and designed by James Ernest and Falko Goettsch, U.S. Patent No. 1 has even been nominated for a 2001 Origins Award, making it a must-try for fans of science fiction and racing games.
