Description
Puerto Rico 1897 is a game where you take on the role of an independent Puerto Rican farmer, competing against others to grow, sell, and trade valuable crops. You'll also work to build vital city infrastructure, all while trying to acquire more wealth and prestige than your opponents. With a unique variable phase order mechanism, each player takes turns selecting a role card, which allows every player to take the associated action, with the selector receiving a special privilege. As you play, you'll earn victory points for owning buildings, shipping goods, and occupying large buildings, with the goal of becoming the most prosperous farmer. The game's hidden victory points and end game bonuses add a layer of strategy, as you'll need to consider your options carefully to come out on top. With its engaging gameplay and economic themes, Puerto Rico 1897 is a fun and challenging experience for 2 to 5 players.
