Description

In Guardians of Xobos, a sci-fi themed tabletop game, 2 to 4 players compete to gain control over the last active source of energy on a dying planet. The game is set in a world where great explorers, known as Patrons, once visited and left behind Guardians to protect the planet's energy sources. As the planet began to fade, these Guardians turned against each other, fighting for survival. Players take on the role of these Guardians, navigating a complex web of strategy and tactical battles to emerge victorious. With a playtime of 60 to 90 minutes, Guardians of Xobos is a game that requires careful planning and execution. Players must balance military and economic development, upgrading their units and building structures to gather resources and produce smaller units called Quarks. The game is divided into two phases: a tactical phase where players move units and resolve battles, and an economic phase where players establish links between Guardians, create Quarks, and build technology tiles to boost their units. With no randomness or luck involved, players must rely on their strategic thinking to win the game by gathering the most Energy and reviving the dying source by the end of the 15th round. Designed by Jaroslaw Bilinski and published in 2018, Guardians of Xobos is a challenging and engaging game that will appeal to fans of science fiction and wargames.
