Description

De Poorters van Nieuwstad is a unique board game where 2 to 4 players work together to found a new city, but with a competitive twist. As the city grows, players construct new buildings, increase the number of Burghers, and replace the surrounding forest with green pastures and fields of grain. The game is full of strategic options, with different specialists like the Baker, Fishmonger, and Tavern, allowing players to earn points by placing buildings and selling food. On each turn, players choose a character, such as the Lumberjack or Sheriff, and perform their action, with a special privilege added to it. However, the game is not without its challenges, as players must navigate hazards like crime, wolves, plague, and the Black Death, which can appear through card play. The first player to score 30 points wins the game, making for a thrilling and interactive experience that lasts around 60 minutes.
