Players use their influence, represented by cards in their hands, to claim imperial reigns and score points. The game requires careful planning, as exerting influence can sometimes aid other players in their own plots. As a trick-taking game, The Barracks Emperors offers a unique twist, with all 13 tricks available simultaneously in an interlocking grid. Each card has a special ability that can be used to surprise opponents. With historical emperors and pretenders represented as individual cards, the game is full of interesting facts and strategic depth.
