Description

In Magnate, you're a merchant looking to impress the Grand Duke by developing the duchy and lifting it up. With the Grand Duke's health failing, you need to act fast to buy a noble title. This resource management game is all about adding value to your side of the district cards by building cards of higher total rank per district than your opponent. Players earn suit-based resource tokens on every turn based on a roll of the dice, similar to CATAN, or by selling unwanted cards. Taxes are occasionally imposed on the wealthy, adding an extra layer of strategy to the game. With easy-to-learn rules and a playtime of just 45 minutes, Magnate is a fun and engaging game for 2 players.
