Description

Diamondback is a classic card game that's all about betting and bluffing your way to victory. First published in 1978, this game was created by Dave Sim, the mastermind behind the comic book Cerebus, and has since become a favorite among fans of poker and other betting games. What sets Diamondback apart is its unique twist on traditional card games - instead of suits and sets, each card has a specific point value, and the player with the highest total points at the end of the hand takes the pot. In a game of Diamondback, 2 to 4 players are dealt two cards each from a deck that can range from 15 to 43 cards, depending on the number of players. The dealer then reveals one of their cards and kicks off the betting round, which continues until they decide to call it quits. At that point, all cards are revealed, and the player with the highest point value wins the hand. With simple rules that can be explained quickly, Diamondback is easy to learn and can be played in just 30 minutes, making it a great option for a quick game night with friends. The combination of betting and bluffing mechanics adds a layer of excitement and strategy to the game, as players try to outmaneuver each other to take home the win.
