Description
In the medieval village of Caylus, players take on the role of master builders, working to construct a new castle for King Philip the Fair. As the castle rises, a city grows around it, and players earn prestige points by contributing to the construction and developing the surrounding area. With 2 to 5 players, the game is a fun and challenging experience that can last anywhere from 60 to 150 minutes. Players place their workers in various buildings to gather resources, build new structures, or upgrade existing ones. The buildings they choose have a significant impact on the game, determining which actions are available to all players. As new buildings are constructed, they stretch along the road, and players must strategically influence the Provost marker to control which buildings can be used. With its complex rules and variable setup, Caylus is a game that requires strategy and planning, but offers a rewarding experience for those who master it.
