Description

Get ready to immerse yourself in Utmost Savagery, a solitaire board game that drops you into the midst of one of World War II's most brutal battles. Designed by Steven Cunliffe and published in 2015, this game puts you in the shoes of the American player, tasked with destroying the Japanese forces on the island of Peleliu. The Japanese are dug in and ready to fight, having spent months building defensive fortifications that will make every inch of progress a nightmare for the Americans. As you navigate the challenges of this 60 to 90 minute game, you'll need to balance your resources and make strategic decisions to outmaneuver the enemy. The rules are easy to learn, but the game itself is a thrilling and intense experience that will keep you on the edge of your seat. With the aid of area movement mechanics, you'll need to carefully plan your attacks and defend against the relentless Japanese forces. The game is won when all 30 Japanese counters are destroyed, but lose if the morale track reaches its limit or the last time chit is drawn with enemy forces still in play. Will you be able to emerge victorious, or will the Utmost Savagery of the Japanese defenses prove too much to overcome?
