Description

Caesar: Epic Battle of Alesia is a tactical level board-wargame that drops you into the midst of an epic battle in 52 BC. Julius Caesar's forces have surrounded the battered Gauls, led by Vercingetorix, and it's up to you to decide the fate of the battle. With a unique "donut" formation, Caesar's defensive perimeter faces both inward to besiege the Gauls and outward to prepare for the massive relief force of over 250,000 men. In this game for 2 to 4 players, you'll navigate the large mapboard, using area movement and dice rolling to outmaneuver your opponent. The goal is simple: the Gauls must create an escape route for Vercingetorix, while the Romans must prevent it. With 20 game turns representing just 2 days, the tension is palpable. Originally published in 1970 and reissued in 1976, this classic game is a must-play for fans of ancient warfare and strategic gameplay.
