Description

Pyramid, also known as Pyramid from Battlestar Galactica, is a unique and engaging card game that originated from the 1970s television series Battlestar Galactica. The game is designed for 2 to 5 players and features a special 55-count deck of hexagonal cards, divided into three suits and ranks, along with a wild card called the Capstone. Players are dealt hands and place bets based on the strength of their hand, similar to poker, with the option to discard and replace cards to improve their chances. The goal is to construct the best possible pyramid, with winning hands determined by factors such as suit, rank, and matching sets. The game offers a range of exciting hand combinations, with approximately fourteen different possibilities, and the use of the Capstone as a wild card adds an extra layer of strategy and bluffing. With no official end to the game, players can quit at their leisure, making it a great option for social gatherings or casual game nights. Designed by Karl Rasmussen and first published in 1980, Pyramid has become a cult classic among fans of the Battlestar Galactica series and card game enthusiasts alike. Its unique blend of betting, hand management, and set collection mechanics makes it a fun and challenging experience for players of all skill levels.
