Description
In the heart of Prague's Old Town, the ancient Astronomical Clock, or Orloj, has been marking the passage of time for centuries with its intricate mechanism and enigmatic figures. Now, you have the chance to leave your own mark on history by building the legendary calendar that will complete this masterpiece. As a master builder, you'll compete against other players to demonstrate your precision, balance, and knowledge of the cosmos, all while navigating the complex task of adding the calendar to the Orloj. The game is simple to learn, but that doesn't mean it's easy to win. With every turn, you'll place workers on the clock's dial to gain resources and perform actions that will bring you closer to completing the calendar. You'll also have the chance to hire assistants and develop your knowledge across three tracks, which will enhance your abilities and give you an edge over your opponents. As you build the apostles' carillon and assemble the gears, spheres, and zodiac signs that make up the calendar, you'll be one step closer to finishing this masterpiece that will mark time in the city for generations. The game can be played with one to four players, and a typical game takes around 60 to 120 minutes to complete, giving you plenty of time to get immersed in the world of medieval technology and Renaissance innovation. The game was designed by Abraham Sanchez Hermida and Paloma J. Pascual, and it's clear that they drew inspiration from the real-life Orloj, which has endured for centuries as a marvel of medieval technology. As you play, you'll experience the thrill of building something new and complex, using a combination of worker placement, set collection, and tech trees to achieve your goals. The game's variable setup and end game bonuses add an extra layer of challenge and excitement, making each playthrough unique and engaging. When the calendar is finally complete, the player with the most harmony points will be declared the winner, but the real reward is the journey itself, as you explore the fascinating world of the Orloj and test your skills as a master builder.
