Description

Polis is a two-player game that drops you into the midst of ancient conflict, where you'll take on the role of a leader guiding either Athens and the Delian League or Sparta and the Peloponnesian League to victory. With a playtime of 60 to 120 minutes, you'll have ample opportunity to develop your strategy and outmaneuver your opponent. The game's complexity may take some time to learn, but the payoff is well worth the effort. As you navigate the game, you'll need to balance securing supplies and trade routes with managing your population's needs and prestige. You can choose to fight for control of territories or use diplomacy to convince other poleis to join your league. With a mix of area majority, card play, and dice rolling, Polis offers a rich and engaging experience that will keep you on your toes. Designed by Fran Diaz and published in 2020, this game is perfect for fans of ancient history, economics, and strategy.
