Description

In Cyclades, players compete to build two cities in the Ancient Greek island group, but to succeed, they must win the favor of the gods. Each turn, players bid for the favors of five different gods, each granting unique abilities. Ares allows for military movement and fortification, while Poseidon enables naval expansion and port construction. Zeus, Athena, and Apollo offer benefits like hiring priests, building universities, and increasing income. With 2 to 5 players and a playtime of 60 to 90 minutes, Cyclades offers a engaging and challenging experience. The game's normal complexity makes it accessible to fans of board games, and its language independence means everyone can join in. Designed by Bruno Cathala and Ludovic Maublanc, Cyclades combines area majority, auction, and card drafting mechanics for a thrilling gameplay experience that requires strategic planning and a little luck.
