Description

In Forged in Steel, 2 to 4 players take on the role of a prominent family in a burgeoning Colorado county in 1900, navigating turbulent social and technological changes. Each family seeks to control one of four sectors, such as mining or industry, while also striving to be Mayor and influence the appointment of other players to offices. The game is played over three eras, with multiple phases in each, where players use cards with historic black-and-white photos to build, buy, or seize structures, or trigger events that can change the course of the game. As players build and grow their city, they must balance progress with the risk of unrest and riots, which can undermine their efforts. The game's complex rules and mechanics, including area majority and variable player powers, make for a challenging and engaging experience. With its unique blend of city building, economic management, and social change, Forged in Steel offers a thrilling experience for players looking to test their strategic skills and become the local powerhouse in a rapidly changing American West.
