Description
In Penny Press, you take on the role of a newspaper magnate in old New York City, competing to become the dominant paper. The game is set during the 'yellow journalism' years at the end of the 19th century, and you'll need to navigate the five news beats of the day: War, Crime & Calamity, New York City, Politics, and the Human Condition. You'll assign reporters to popular stories, trying to gain a majority and claim them for your newspaper. As you publish newspapers, you'll move up the circulation track and earn bonuses for covering the news beats. The game ends when one player publishes their third or fourth newspaper, depending on the number of players, and the player who has moved farthest along the track wins. With easy-to-learn rules and a playtime of 45 to 60 minutes, Penny Press is a fun and engaging game for 2 to 5 players.
