Description

In Archipelago, 2 to 5 players take on the roles of Renaissance European powers competing to explore a Pacific or Caribbean archipelago. They'll explore territories, harvest resources, and use those resources to build markets, harbors, cities, and temples, all while negotiating with each other and trying to complete their secret objectives. But beware, the natives can revolt if they become too unhappy, and everyone will lose if that happens. The game is a complex mix of economic management, worker placement, and negotiation, with a unique blend of cooperative and competitive elements. With three sets of objectives to choose from, players can opt for a short, medium, or long game, and even play solo with an expansion. Designed by Christophe Boelinger, Archipelago offers a challenging and engaging experience that requires players to balance their own interests with the needs of the native population, all set against the backdrop of a richly themed exploration of the high seas.
