Description

In Shoal, you're on a mission to create the highest scoring school of fish, and it's not as simple as it sounds. With 2 to 4 players competing, every decision counts, and each fish can either help or hinder your overall score. The game is all about strategically choosing which fish to add, cover, or keep as you layer your cards to achieve your goals. As you build your shoal, you'll need to think carefully about which fish will give you the best chance of winning. The great thing about Shoal is how easy it is to learn - the rules are simple, and you can start playing right away. On each turn, you just play a card and then draw a new one from one of two piles, which means the game moves quickly and you're always making decisions. Despite being easy to pick up, Shoal is harder to master, which means you'll want to keep playing to improve your skills and beat your friends. With a playtime of just 15 to 30 minutes, you can fit in a game or two even on a busy day, and the fact that it was designed by Mike Peacock and published in 2024 means you're getting a fresh and exciting gaming experience. As you play Shoal, you'll be using tile placement and layering to build your school of fish, and you'll also have the chance to earn end game bonuses, which can make all the difference in your final score. The game combines elements of animal-themed games and card games, which makes for a unique and engaging experience. With its simple rules and depth of strategy, Shoal is a game that's perfect for families, friends, or anyone looking for a fun and challenging game to play together.
