In the world of Paper Tales, the pursuit of power has led kingdoms to dabble in forbidden knowledge, risking the unleashing of unimaginable forces. With Paper Tales: Beyond the Gates, an expansion to the original game, players can delve deeper into this fantasy realm, exploring new strategies and possibilities. This expansion, designed by Masato Uesugi and released in 2018, introduces twenty new units and six new buildings, which not only maintain the balance of the base game but also enhance its replay value. With Beyond the Gates, the game becomes even more dynamic, as players can now start with a set of seven buildings, chosen from a total of eleven, ensuring that each game is unique. The new units and buildings open up fresh avenues for players to explore, and the expansion also supports up to seven players, making it a great option for large groups. Additionally, solo players can enjoy a thrilling experience, facing off against the powerful armies of the Lich King in a dedicated solo mode, complete with specific Necropolis and Lich King cards.
