Description
Descent: The Well of Darkness is an epic expansion for the popular board game Descent: Journeys in the Dark, designed by Kevin Wilson and John Goodenough and first released in 2006. This thrilling adventure is perfect for 2 to 5 players who are ready to embark on a journey that will test their courage and skills. With a playtime of 120 to 240 minutes, you'll have plenty of time to explore the modular board, roll dice, and engage in role-playing and team-based gameplay. The rules are of normal complexity, so if you're familiar with board games, you'll have no issue diving right in. As you delve into the world of Descent: The Well of Darkness, you'll encounter a host of new challenges and obstacles, including scything blades, rolling boulders, and boiling hot lava. The game introduces six new heroes, each with their unique abilities and strengths, as well as a range of terrifying monsters like tricky kobolds, bloodsucking ferrox, and unstoppable golems. The heroes will also have access to new skills, treasures, and equipment, such as six new relics and a new type of potion, to aid them in their quest. Meanwhile, the Overlord player will have the ability to customize their deck before every game, adding in devastating new trap, event, and spawn cards to stop the heroes in their tracks. The goal of the game is to explore the darkness that lies deep within the world, a chasm that was sealed over a millennium ago, and prevent the force of evil within from unleashing a thousand years of darkness upon the world. To get there, you'll battle your way through dank tunnels, trapped temples, and even volcanoes, facing new tricks, traps, and obstacles at every turn. With the combination of dice rolling, modular board, role-playing, team-based gameplay, and variable player powers, Descent: The Well of Darkness offers an immersive and engaging experience that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Whether you're a fan of adventure, dice games, exploration, fantasy, or fighting, this game has something for everyone, and as an expansion, it's a great way to add new excitement to the base game, Descent: Journeys in the Dark.
