Description
The local BBQ is coming up and it's time to show off your awesome life, or at least, make it look better than your friends' do. In BBQ: Look at my awesome life, you'll collect neighbors who are coming to the BBQ and place them in a line to form the most awesome picture. With simple rules that can be explained quickly, this game is easy to learn, but don't let that fool you - it's full of complex and meaningful decisions that will keep you on your toes. Designed by Jip Philips and first published in 2014, this card game is perfect for 2 to 4 players and can be played in just 15 to 30 minutes. The game is all about strategy and timing, as players choose a neighbor, place them in their picture, use their ability, and select a new neighbor to add to their hand. The neighbor who chooses the quickest gets to go first, and some neighbors are definitely more desirable than others. Some are worth more points, while others have special abilities that can help you sabotage your opponents or get ahead in the game. For example, some neighbors can take cards from another player's hand or switch around neighbors who are waiting to have their picture taken. This is crucial, as many neighbors only look good in the right spot - a hillbilly standing next to the BBQ might be a great addition to your picture, but not if a policeman or concerned mother is standing next to him. As you play, you'll discover that the different cards are what make this game really interesting. With various playmodes, including the option for fast neighbors to pick up useful cards and rewards for having neighbors of a certain color, there's no one "right" way to play. Every situation is unique, and you'll need to think on your feet to come out on top. Whether you're a seasoned board game player or just starting out, BBQ: Look at my awesome life is a fun and challenging game that's perfect for a quick game night with friends. With its inviting art style and short playing time, it's a great way to ease into more complex games, and its variable player powers and tile placement mechanics will keep you coming back for more.
