Downfall: Conquest of the Third Reich, 1942-1945 is an epic two-player game that drops you into the midst of World War II, where you'll control the fate of the Western Allies or the Soviet Union as they join forces to take down the Axis. But here's the twist - each player has their own agenda, seeking a victory that will give them the upper hand in post-war Europe. To achieve this, each player commands two factions, with the Western player controlling the Western Allies and the OKH faction, which represents the German and minor Axis armies fighting the Soviet Union in the east. Meanwhile, the Soviet player is in charge of the Soviet faction and the OKW faction, which encompasses the German and Italian armies battling the Western Allies in the west. Gameplay is where Downfall really gets interesting, thanks to its innovative initiative track. Instead of following a set sequence of play, players take turns choosing orders and expending initiative to perform them. The faction with the initiative gets to choose the next order, and as they do, they'll advance their marker along the track.
