Description

Festung Budapest is a gripping World War II expansion for the Advanced Squad Leader game system, designed by Bill Cirillo and published in 2012. This game takes players to the western side of the Hungarian capital, where they'll experience the intense fighting on the Buda side of the Danube during the period from January 1 to February 10, 1945. With 17 scenarios and three Campaign Games, Festung Budapest offers a deep and immersive gaming experience that's perfect for 2 to 4 players looking for a challenge. The game's complexity is undeniable, with rules that will take even experienced board game enthusiasts some time to learn, but the payoff is well worth the investment. As players navigate the hexagon grid, using dice rolling and line of sight mechanics to outmaneuver their opponents, they'll be transported to a pivotal moment in history. The game comes with 4 maps and 9 counter sheets, featuring a range of units, including German SS, Hungarian infantry, and Russian air support. From the fascist Arrow Cross Militia to the anti-communist Vannay Battalion, every aspect of the game is designed to recreate the bitter struggle for the heart of Budapest. With a playtime of 360 minutes, Festung Budapest is not a game for the faint of heart, but for those willing to invest the time, it promises a rich and rewarding experience that will keep them coming back for more.
