Description

Get ready for the ultimate adventure in Heart of Darkness: An Adventure Game of African Exploration, a game designed by Kim Kanger and published in 2021. This thrilling game takes you on a journey into the unknown, as you venture into the depths of Africa in the mid-19th century. With one to five players, you'll start your expedition at one of the six Ports of Entry, financed by a major newspaper and publisher back home, who expect you to bring back fantastic stories to publish. Your expedition will consist of armed askaris, local African soldiers, and porters carrying food and gifts, with occasional local guides and goats to keep you company. As you trek into the unknown, you'll interact with the people you meet, searching for myths and legends, while facing hunger, predators, and the risk of losing your sanity. The map covers Central and Southern Africa, divided along ethnic groups, and you'll move your expedition marker from area to area, searching for stories to tell. With the goal of accumulating more Drama Points than your competitors, you'll need to navigate the dangers of the wilderness, including wildlife, hostile people, and disasters that will wear down your health and sanity. Will you emerge victorious, or will you succumb to the dangers of the Heart of Darkness? With a playtime of 240 to 420 minutes, this game of normal complexity is perfect for fans of adventure and exploration games, and is sure to provide hours of thrilling entertainment.
