Description

Herd is a simple yet strategic board game designed by Mark Steere, released in 2022, where two players, Red and Blue, compete to dominate a hexagonal grid. The game rules are easy to learn, and players take turns rolling dice to determine how many stones they can place on the board and how many of their opponent's stones they can remove. The twist is that the number of stones you can place is determined by the higher die value, while the number of enemy stones you can remove is determined by the lower die value, making each turn a thrilling gamble. As the game unfolds, players must think ahead to surround and capture their opponent's stones, which can lead to a cascade of additional captures and placements. The game ends when the board is completely filled, and the player with the most stones on the board wins. With its unique blend of dice rolling and strategic placement, Herd is a fun and challenging game that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Despite its simple rules, the game requires careful planning and adaptability, making it a great choice for fans of abstract strategy games. Whether you're a seasoned gamer or just looking for a new challenge, Herd is a great option for a fun and engaging gaming experience.
