Description
In a world filled with monsters and madmen, heroes rise to the challenge, but they can't do it without your help. You're the unsung heroes, the shopkeepers, smithies, and potion brewers who provide the vital resources these brave adventurers need to succeed. In Hero's Crossing, you'll manage your own town, juggling supply and demand to ensure that the heroes who pass through have the gear they need to triumph. It's up to you to decide which resources to produce, how to price them, and when to sell, all in the hopes of earning those valuable victory points. The game is played over a series of rounds, with each player taking individual turns picking dice to perform various actions. The color-coded dice drafting system adds a fun twist, as different colored dice allow you to generate resources, move them around your town, bid on new buildings, or sell them to heroes. The number on the die also matters, with higher numbers making your actions more powerful, but also making you a target for other players looking to steal your dice or disrupt your plans. As the heroes come and go, each with their own specific needs, you'll need to be strategic about which resources to focus on and when to make your moves. With two to four players competing to be the most successful town, Hero's Crossing is a game of strategy and skill, where the right decisions can lead to victory, and the wrong ones can leave you lagging behind. The game's normal complexity makes it easy for experienced board game players to dive right in, and the combination of auction, dice rolling, role-playing, and tile placement mechanics keeps things fresh and exciting. Whether you're a fan of city building, fantasy, or video game themes, Hero's Crossing has something to offer, and with its 90-minute playtime, you can easily fit in a game or two in an evening. So, will you be the one to save the world, or at least, help the heroes who do?
