Description
Imperial Orion is a game of power and influence, where 2 to 6 players take on the roles of shadowy organizations vying for control in a grand space opera. Set in a future where humans have expanded among the stars, the game takes place on a board composed of 7 hexagonal tiles, representing 6 regional powers and a central neutral zone. The players don't take turns in the classical sense, instead, the regional powers do, in an order determined randomly at the start of each game. This unique mechanic allows players to exercise their power through unspecified means, gaining control of a region's population and influencing the politics. As investors, players must focus on where their investments have the best rates of return, rather than getting too attached to a particular regional power. The game is all about power, in all its forms - economic, cultural, military, and biological. With easy-to-learn rules, Imperial Orion is a game that's easy to jump into, but challenging to master. Designed by Nick Hawkins, this 2014 game is a print and play derivative of Imperial 2030, with a twist that takes the basic premise into a thrilling science fiction setting. With its unique blend of area majority, area movement, and stock holding mechanics, Imperial Orion is a game that's sure to keep you on the edge of your seat as you navigate the complex web of power and influence in a distant galaxy.
