Description

Get ready to immerse yourself in the vibrant world of Istanbul: Choose & Write, a game designed by Rüdiger Dorn and published in 2023. In this exciting board game, 1 to 5 players take on the roles of shrewd merchants, aiming to gather goods and lira to trade for precious rubies. What sets this game apart is its innovative choose-and-write mechanism, where each player has their own personal bazaar tracking sheet to mark their choices as they play. This unique approach challenges players in a completely new way, even for fans of the Istanbul series who will recognize familiar locations like the Large Market and the Gemstone Dealer. As players take their turns, they must decide whether to play a Location card or a Guild card, each with its own strategic implications. Location cards allow all merchants to perform a specific action, while Guild cards trigger powerful effects but come at a higher cost. With easy-to-learn rules and a playtime of just 30 to 45 minutes, Istanbul: Choose & Write is an accessible and engaging game that's perfect for a quick gaming session. Whether you're playing solo or with friends, this game promises a fun and dynamic experience, with the choose-and-write mechanism adding a fresh twist to the classic Istanbul gameplay.
