With 24 location tiles, 8 new abilities, and 12 summary cards, you'll have plenty of opportunities to build and strategize. The addition of Marshes land type and Forts instead of Castles also changes up the scoring possibilities, making the game more dynamic. In Kingdom Builder: Marshlands, collecting bonus abilities can give you a major edge. If you manage to collect the same ability twice, you unlock a powerful new ability that can help you dominate the board. For example, collecting two Rider abilities lets you move your pieces extra spaces and even jump over other lands to get to the best spots first. With its easy-to-learn rules and modular board, this expansion is perfect for 2 to 5 players looking for a fun and challenging game that can be played in just 45 minutes.
