Description

Get ready for a thrilling game of strategy and skill with Lightning: Poland, a World War II-themed board game designed by Dan Verssen. Released in 2008, this game drops you into the midst of the German blitzkrieg campaign against Poland in September 1939. As one of the two players, you'll take on the role of either the German or Polish side, each with its own unique objectives. The German side must push forward with lightning speed to capture Warsaw and other key Polish cities, forcing a surrender before international intervention can occur. On the other hand, the Polish side must use every trick in the book to delay the German advance, buying time for other countries to step in and turn the tide of the war. With easy-to-learn rules and a playtime of just 30 minutes, Lightning: Poland is the perfect game for a quick yet intense gaming session. The hand management mechanics add a layer of depth and complexity, requiring players to carefully plan and execute their moves. As a card game and wargame, Lightning: Poland offers a unique blend of strategy and historical context, making it a must-play for fans of World War II games. Will you lead the German forces to a swift victory, or will you rally the Polish troops to hold on long enough for help to arrive? There's only one way to find out – gather a friend and get ready to experience the thrill of Lightning: Poland.
