Description

Nordkapp is a gripping two-player game that drops you into the midst of a hypothetical war between NATO and the USSR in the frozen tundras of Scandinavia. Set in the late 1980s, this game assumes a larger conflict is unfolding across Europe, and your focus is on the Soviet Union's push to secure crucial airfields in Norway. By doing so, the Soviets aim to extend the reach of their naval aviation, giving them dominance over the vital North Atlantic sea lanes. With a map scale of 16 kilometers per hex and a timescale of 48 hours per turn, you'll need to think strategically and make every move count. As you delve into the world of Nordkapp, you'll find a game that's easy to learn, especially if you're familiar with board games. The rules are of normal complexity, so you can dive right in and start playing. With 200 counters and a large 22" x 32.5" mapsheet, the game components will transport you to the Arctic Circle, where you'll engage in a battle of wits with your opponent. Be prepared to invest a few hours, as a typical playtime of 240 minutes will fly by as you navigate the challenges of modern warfare. Designed by Charles T. Kamps and Edward G. Sollers, Nordkapp is a classic game that's been thrilling players since its release in 1983, and it's ready to do the same for you.
