Description

Ostia: The Harbor of Rome is a game of strategic trading and clever decision-making, set in the ancient world. Designed by Stefan Risthaus and published in 2005, this game is easy to learn but challenging to master, making it a great fit for groups of 3 to 5 players. In Ostia, you'll navigate the complexities of commodity speculation, auctioning, and trading, all in the pursuit of earning victory points and outmaneuvering your opponents. As you collect and trade goods, you'll need to balance the desire to earn money with the potential benefits of donating to the Roman senate, which grants points for the most needed goods. As the game unfolds over 60 minutes, you'll need to stay adaptable and adjust your strategy to respond to changing circumstances. The ranking of goods in demand shifts from round to round, and you'll have to decide which goods to keep, which to sell, and which to donate. With limited storage space and expensive storehouses, every decision counts, and the right balance of risk and reward can make all the difference. Whether you're a seasoned gamer or just looking for a fun and engaging experience, Ostia: The Harbor of Rome offers a unique and captivating blend of economic strategy and social interaction that's sure to delight.
