Description

In Tara, Seat of Kings, you'll embark on a quest to become the High King of Ireland, navigating the intricate world of ancient Irish kingdoms. This abstract strategy game, designed by Alan Paull, challenges 2 to 4 players to manage their hand of cards, representing supporters and resources, to promote their followers from humble farmers to powerful kings. With a playtime of 45 minutes and normal complexity, Tara is an engaging experience for board game enthusiasts. As you play, you'll take turns selecting cards to place pieces in regions, swap opponents' pieces, declare amnesties, or gain resources. By strategically promoting your pieces, you can capture opponents' pieces, release your own captives, and ultimately establish a king in a region. The game unfolds in rounds, with each player using three cards to take actions, followed by an end-of-round sequence where traitors are revealed, income is collected, and garrisons are established. The goal is to be the first player to have a king in two different regions, securing your position as the High King of Ireland. With its unique blend of hand management and territory building, Tara, Seat of Kings offers a thrilling experience that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.
