Description
In The Ancient World, players take on the role of leaders of city-states, competing to grow the largest and most influential by managing citizens, treasury, and military. The goal is to defeat titans and attract tribes, who are eager to leave behind old traditions and join forces to make the world a safer place. With a playtime of 90 minutes, 2 to 4 players can enjoy this game of normal complexity, using mechanics like dice rolling, card drafting, and worker placement to outmaneuver each other. As players send citizens to take special actions or use military cards to attack titans, they build Empire cards that give them more citizens, money, and abilities. The city-state's influence is measured by sets of tribe banners, which can be gained by defeating titans or building Empire cards. The player with the most victory points from sets of tribe banners wins after six rounds, making for a thrilling competition in this ancient world of fantasy and civilization.
