Description

The Italian Campaign: Anzio is a deeply immersive wargame that drops you into the midst of World War II, specifically the Battle for Italy. This game is designed for 2 players and takes around 240 minutes to play, so be prepared to settle in for a marathon session of strategic maneuvering. The complexity of the game rules might take some time to learn, but trust us, it's worth the investment. With its hexagon grid game mechanics, you'll be navigating a detailed map of the Italian landscape, making tactical decisions that could turn the tide of the battle. Published in 1992, The Italian Campaign: Anzio is a classic game that still holds up today. The game scale is carefully calibrated, with each turn representing 1 to 2 days and each hex equivalent to 5 miles, giving you a sense of the scope and scale of the conflict. As a base game, it's a self-contained experience, but it's worth noting that it's part of a larger series, and ownership of the Salerno game is required to play. With five scenarios and two campaign games to choose from, you'll have plenty of opportunities to test your mettle against your opponent and explore different aspects of the Italian Campaign. Whether you're a seasoned wargamer or just looking for a challenging and engaging game, The Italian Campaign: Anzio is sure to deliver.
