Description

Twilight Imperium: The Outer Rim is an epic expansion that takes the classic Twilight Imperium game to new heights, adding fresh excitement and depth to the original. This expansion, designed by Christian T. Petersen, is part of the iconic Twilight Imperium series and is specifically designed to work in conjunction with the base game. With two new races and 13 new hex tiles, players can explore a whole new fifth galactic ring, offering a wealth of new opportunities for exploration, trade, and conquest. The Outer Rim expansion seamlessly integrates with the base game, introducing new rules and counters for Leaders and Shock Troops that enhance gameplay and strategic possibilities. The game's normal complexity makes it accessible to anyone familiar with board games, and the variety of game mechanics - including dice rolling, hexagon grid, modular board, tile placement, trading, variable phase order, and variable player powers - ensures that each playthrough is unique and engaging. Players can engage in complex negotiations, forge alliances, and make tough decisions that will determine the fate of their civilization, all set against the backdrop of a sprawling science fiction universe. Whether you're a seasoned fan of the Twilight Imperium series or just looking to expand your gaming horizons, The Outer Rim is an excellent addition to any game collection. With support for 2 to 6 players and a playtime of around 240 minutes, it's perfect for a dedicated gaming session with friends. First published in 1998, this expansion has stood the test of time, and its combination of exploration, politics, and warfare makes it a must-play for fans of civilization games, space exploration, and wargames. So gather your friends, get ready to explore the unknown, and experience the thrill of The Outer Rim.
