Description

Vendel to Viking is a game that will transport you back in time to the Nordic cultures of the past, from 550 to 800 CE. As a standalone prequel to Pax Viking, it offers a unique gaming experience that's perfect for 1 to 6 players. In this game, you'll take on the role of a family leader, guiding your family's legacy through the centuries as you evolve from generation to generation. Each turn represents a new generation, and you'll need to strategically place your family members on the map to access different effects and elevate them to formidable persons. As you navigate the game, you'll be immersed in a world of Nordic culture, using worker actions, character cards, and achievement trees to build your family's influence. The game mechanics are intricate, with features like area majority, modular boards, and card drafting, which may take some time to learn, but offer a rich and rewarding experience. With variable player powers and solo mode options, every game will be different, and you'll need to plan carefully to achieve success. The goal is to become the first player to hold two Future-level achievements in the achievement tree, or to accumulate the most points before the centuries run out. In Vendel to Viking, the journey is just as important as the destination. With a playtime of 60 to 120 minutes, you'll have ample opportunity to become fully engaged in the game world. And, with the option to interface with Pax Viking, you can take your progress to the next level and play the two games as a campaign. Designed by Jon Manker and published in 2024, Vendel to Viking offers a fresh and exciting experience for fans of exploration, medieval, and nautical themes. So gather your friends, or play solo, and get ready to embark on a thrilling adventure through the ages.
