Description
Crisis: 1914 is a game of high-stakes diplomacy and strategic maneuvering, where players must navigate the treacherous landscape of international relations in the lead-up to World War I. Designed for 1 to 5 players, this cooperative game challenges you to balance competing interests and forge a coherent response to the crisis, all while managing the delicate balance of power and prestige. With a playtime of 60 to 120 minutes, you'll need to think carefully and act decisively to prevent war and emerge victorious. At the heart of the game are three interconnected concepts: Prestige, Tension, and Diplomatic Pressure. Prestige is the key to winning, and you'll earn it by applying Diplomatic Pressure through the clever use of cards. Each card has a unique effect, from Assertion Cards that assert your nation's power to increase your Prestige, to Diplomatic Back-Channel Cards that let you increase Diplomatic Pressure without raising Tension. You'll need to use these cards wisely, as Tension is the enemy of success - if it gets too high, you'll provoke your opponents into mobilizing for war, and you'll lose. With easy-to-learn rules, you can dive right in and start negotiating, scheming, and strategizing your way to victory. As you play, you'll need to navigate the complex web of alliances and rivalries, using your cards to build momentum and reduce Tension. With the game's random turn order and once-per-game abilities, no two plays will be the same, and you'll need to stay on your toes to adapt to the shifting landscape. Whether you're playing solo or with friends, Crisis: 1914 is a thrilling and immersive experience that will challenge you to think like a statesperson and act like a diplomat. Will you be able to navigate the crisis and emerge victorious, or will you succumb to the pressure and plunge the world into war? There's only one way to find out.
