Description

RAN is a game of warfare and strategy set in the Age of Warring States in Japan, where powerful Daimyo strive to maintain and extend their power bases. The game simulates the highly personal form of warfare developed by the Japanese samurai, with formal battles playing out as backdrops to individual feats of courage and bravery. Players take on the roles of these feudal lords, seeking to attain the office of Shogun and collect the severed heads of enemy samurai. With a playtime of 240 minutes, RAN is a complex and immersive game that requires strategic thinking and tactical maneuvering. The game features a hexagon grid system, allowing for nuanced and detailed battles to play out. Designed by Richard H. Berg and Mark Herman, RAN is a game of chaos and warfare, where players must navigate the swirling and non-linear battles of the Sengoku Jidai era.
