Description

The Republic of Rome is a game of politics and power set in ancient Rome, where players take on the roles of powerful families vying for control of the senate. To win, you must balance competing for state offices, military command, and economic concessions with cooperating to maintain the stability of Rome itself. The game simulates over 250 years of history, with players making proposals to the senate and voting on them, all while navigating the threats of war, famine, and unrest. As you build your senators' and generals' positions, you must also work to undermine your opponents, all while keeping Rome safe from external pressures. A powerful general or influential senator can become emperor and win the game, but they can also fall victim to the plague or an assassin's blade. With its complex rules and deep gameplay, The Republic of Rome is a challenging and engaging game for 1 to 6 players that will keep you on the edge of your seat for its 300-minute playtime.
