Description
In Geoengineering 101, you're one of two to four world leaders facing a daunting task: minimizing hardship in your regions while working to decarbonize the world economy. The game is set in a world where climate change has gotten out of control, and geoengineering is now on the table as a last resort. Your goal is to eliminate all fossil fuel use, but in the meantime, you'll need to balance the benefits of shielding your regions from the impacts of climate change with the long-term goal of slowing it down. As you take turns carrying out geoengineering programs or acts of deep green resistance, you'll need to navigate the challenges of a time delay, where your actions don't take effect until your next turn. This can lead to unpredictable side effects, such as triggering hardship or shifting global rainfall patterns. With easy-to-learn rules and a playtime of just 30 to 45 minutes, Geoengineering 101 is a thought-provoking and engaging game that challenges you to make tough decisions in a world where there are no winners, only those who lose less.
