Description

Time of Crisis: The Age of Iron and Rust is an exciting expansion to the original Time of Crisis game, where 1 to 4 players get to immerse themselves in the chaotic world of the Roman Empire during the Third Century. This expansion builds upon the base game, Time of Crisis: The Roman Empire in Turmoil, 235-284 AD, introducing new and thrilling mechanics that enhance the overall gaming experience. With a playtime of 150 to 210 minutes, you'll have ample time to dive into the intricate world of ancient Rome, navigating the complex web of politics, warfare, and strategy. As you play, you'll have the opportunity to build your influence among the Senate, the Legions, and the People of Rome, using a deckbuilding mechanism that allows you to grow your power and legacy. The Age of Iron and Rust doubles the number of influence cards available, providing a wealth of new choices and strategies to explore. You'll also have the option to use new Emperor rules, which place your leader directly on the board, granting bonuses for bold moves but also putting them at risk of being killed in battle or assassinated. This adds a new layer of tension and excitement to the game, as you weigh the risks and rewards of using your Emperor to further your dynasty's ambitions. One of the most significant features of The Age of Iron and Rust is its support for solo and 2-3 player games, thanks to the introduction of AI players driven by easy-to-use instructions. These AI players come in three different profiles, providing a mix of challenges that will test your skills and strategies. Whether you're playing alone or with friends, The Age of Iron and Rust offers a rich and immersive experience, with a wide range of game mechanics, including action queues, area movement, campaign and battle card-driven play, and more. With its normal complexity level, this game is accessible to anyone familiar with board games, making it an excellent choice for fans of strategy and history.
