Description

Space Empires: Close Encounters is the ultimate expansion to take your Space Empires: 4X experience to the next level. This game is designed for 1 to 4 players and offers a playtime of 180 minutes, so be prepared to immerse yourself in a thrilling adventure. With the introduction of ship boarding engagements and planetary invasions, you'll get to explore the strengths and weaknesses of each alien empire through roughly 20 unique racial abilities. The expansion seamlessly integrates with the base game, allowing you to add more technology and cool sci-fi elements in simple ways. You can choose to use the entire expansion or pick and choose the parts that excite you the most. As you delve into the game, you'll discover an experience system that lets your ship groups become more proficient over time, making it beneficial to keep your ships alive. The expansion also introduces titans, super large ships that can carry fighters and destroy planets, but come with their own set of liabilities. With new scenarios for 3 and 4 players, as well as solitaire scenarios, you'll have plenty of opportunities to test your skills and strategies.
