Description

In the game Aquileia, 3 to 5 players take on the roles of wealthy patricians in the ancient Roman city, competing to become the most powerful figure by trading and building. Each player has a set of henchmen that they use to participate in various activities such as sports, culture, trading, and building, which can bring expenses, earnings, and victory points. The game is played over six rounds, with each round consisting of a placement phase and a resolution phase. Players place their henchmen on action spaces and their tiebreaker disc on the tiebreaker track, and then resolve the actions in numerical order. The actions include buying and selling goods, competing in the arena and stadium, bidding on laurel cards, building villas and banks, and activating buildings to earn victory points or money. The player with the most victory points at the end of the game wins, making Aquileia a game of strategic planning and tactical execution.
