Description

In Mercurius, you take on the role of a rich citizen in 17th century Holland, looking to increase your wealth by investing in the East India Company or trading exotic goods. The game is set in a time when the first world stock market is opening in Amsterdam, and citizens are eager to capitalize on the opportunity. With easy to learn rules, 3 to 5 players can dive into the world of commodity speculation, hand management, and stock holding, all in a playtime of 45 to 60 minutes. Designed by Łukasz Woźniak and published in 2012, Mercurius offers a unique blend of economic strategy and risk management. As you navigate the game, you'll have to balance your investments in stocks and goods, using your knowledge of market trends and events to make informed decisions. With your own set of "changing prices" cards and special action cards, you'll have the ability to influence the market and make strategic moves. But be careful, as the value of goods can fluctuate rapidly, making them a riskier but potentially more lucrative investment.
