Description

In the ancient Roman Empire, two players compete for the esteemed title of Balneator, ruler of the baths. This 25-minute duel is all about adjusting the temperature of the baths to perfection, and the first player to get it right four times wins the game. Designed by Andreas Rohde, Balneator is an abstract strategy game that's easy to learn, with simple rules that can be explained quickly. Players take turns moving their Therminator pawn and dice, trying to outmaneuver their opponent to claim the coveted tokens. As a player, you'll need to think strategically about how to use your dice and Therminator to influence the temperature of the baths. You can move your Therminator to change the value of your opponent's dice, or adjust the value of your own dice to reach the perfect temperature. With each roll of the dice, you'll have the opportunity to move your dice around the board, trying to reach the exact number of spaces to match the temperature of a bath. If you succeed, you'll earn a token, and the first player to collect four tokens wins the game. With its unique blend of area majority and influence mechanics, Balneator is a fun and challenging game that's perfect for two players looking for a quick and engaging competition.
