Description

The Academy is a place where you'll need to prove yourself in mysterious disciplines, and role reversal is key. In this 30-minute game for 3 to 4 players, you'll take on a different role each round, with the goal of winning tricks, completing round goals, and collecting awards. With easy-to-learn rules, designed by Manny Dominguez and published in 2023, you'll be able to dive right in and start playing. The game is all about trick-taking, and with eight cards in hand, you'll need to use your skills to outmaneuver your opponents. As you play, you'll take on roles like Mastermind, Team Player, Captain, and Rebel, each with its own special task and goals. The Captain leads the first trick, and other players must follow suit if possible, adding a fun twist to the classic trick-taking mechanic. The winner of each trick leads the next one, and at the end of the round, players receive an award if they've met their role's goal. With multiple rounds and changing roles, you'll need to stay on your toes to come out on top. The first player to collect three awards and "The Ace in the Sleeve" wins the game, making The Academy a thrilling and unpredictable experience that's sure to keep you coming back for more.
