Description
In Cascadero, a tile placement strategy game designed by Reiner Knizia, players take on the roles of ministers tasked with restoring civil harmony to a divided land. To achieve this, they must visit towns by placing envoys adjacent to them, but these towns are only willing to collaborate when envoys are part of an established group or carry an official seal. This leads to a delicate balance between building long chains of envoys for synergies and objectives, or establishing smaller groups to trigger timely town scoring. As players trigger town scoring, they advance along success columns, gaining bonuses such as victory points, repositioning envoys, or additional turns. With careful planning, players can create a cascading combo of bonuses that swing momentum in their favor. The game offers a wealth of replayability through emergent player interaction and variable board setups, making each playthrough unique and challenging.
