Description

In Marchia Orientalis, you're tasked with developing the eastern territories of King Otto's Empire in the 10th Century, a challenge that's both exciting and rewarding. Starting with a single city tile, you'll embark on a journey to build and expand your territory by buying farms, funding monasteries, and eventually erecting castles to defend against enemies. The game is easy to learn, making it accessible to players of all skill levels, and with a playtime of just 45 minutes, you can dive into the medieval world of Marchia Orientalis without a huge time commitment. As you play, you'll need to strategically decide how to grow your territory, either by buying tiles from the market or drawing new ones and offering them for sale. The tile placement mechanics add a layer of depth to the game, as you'll need to ensure that the tiles you add to your territory have matching trading symbols, creating a supply chain that flows from monasteries and farms to villages and castles. With the opportunity to earn bonus points for the most tiles of each type of building and for accumulating wealth, the game offers a fun and competitive experience for 2 to 5 players. Designed by Stefan Risthaus and published in 2014, Marchia Orientalis is a great choice for anyone looking for a engaging and challenging board game experience.
